Beyond Clothing: Our Charitable Partnership with Dress for Success

As young women in business, we see the struggles our peers face everyday, from our young women clients to other Advisors working on growing their practice.  Female Financial Advisors are a minority; studies report that less than 25% of all Advisors are women.  Fortunately for us, we have had the great privilege of being raised and mentored to see this as an advantage and to be proud of our roles in helping clients achieve financial success.  Not everyone has been as fortunate as we have, and we recognize that.  

That’s why we’ve partnered with Dress for Success Boston.  DFS is a not-for-profit organization that helps women in a variety of ways and we’re excited that we’re able to be involved in their mission.  Dress for Success’ clients are women who come from poverty and may not have had  access to career opportunities, many have escaped abusive relationships and are looking to start over, and others are looking to rejoin the workforce after a gap in their resume due to various unfortunate circumstances.

It’s not just clothing. Dress for Success helps women to prepare for an interview, put together a resume, get a job, and keep a job.  Additionally, they offer financial literacy courses, educational events, and they provide services that help women achieve happiness and thrive in life both professionally and personally.  They are truly an amazing organization and we’re honored to have been welcomed to work with our local Boston affiliate.  Since being established 20 years ago in 1997, Dress for Success has empowered and helped close to one million underprivileged women in 28 countries across the globe.

Our partnership with DFS Boston will include fundraising, marketing support, and teaching women about financial topics such as investing and budgeting.  As female Financial Advisors, we will provide a voice of reason to women that is sincere, trusting, supportive, and without judgement.  The Stock Sisters’ mission certainly overlaps Dress for Success’ mission in many ways.  Our mission is to empower, inspire, and educate women financially and we look forward to accomplishing it today and in the future.
